FIRST IN A SERIES OF BOOK /AUTHOR TALKS AT LIBRARIES IN CONNECTICUT

During National Poetry Month I gave a talk about the subject of my book, English poet Isabella Whitney, an obsure poet who lived in sixteenth centurey London.  Whitney is credited with being the first English woman to write about men-women relationships in a time when relgious translations were the only viable writing endeavor for women.  I was thrilled to read an excerpt from her poem, THE ADMONITION BY THE AUCTOR, TO ALL YOUNG GENTLEWOMEN: AND TO ALL OTHER MAIDS BEING IN LOVE.

Next talk scheduled for July 23, 2024 at Norwalk Public Library
